    I want to buy my friends each a copy of a good, cheap (say under $20), multiplayer PC video game for Christmas. I don’t necessarily care the genre (they’re pretty flexible).

    One example I can think of (that they already own) is “Moonbase Commander”.

    • If your group of friends have not played it before, you won’t go wrong with Counter-Strike, and it is extremely cheap these days. (first-person-shooter)

      Diablo II is also extremely cheap now. (action-RPG)

      Warcraft III is also a good, cheap, game now. (real-time strategy)

    • Return to Castle Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory

      Free, good graphics (Quake3 engine), fun

      Lots of people playing it
